Willow Manor Players wishes to contribute to the continuing education of a worthy student who is seeking to further his or her education in performing arts, dance or music. Your high school is one of the local area high schools included in this opportunity to provide a scholarship for one of your students.
Willow Manor Players, a local, non-profit community theater group, established the "Ruth Kletzing Memorial Scholarship" in 1974 with the intent to provide financial assistance to an area high school student planning to study in one of the above mentioned fields. This year our scholarship, between $500.00 and $1,000.00, will assist in providing some financial relief for a qualifying student. A resume must be submitted which addresses the three following qualifications and any other pertinent information about the applicant. The qualifications state that a student 1) must be of good, morale character, 2) must have been active in theatrical productions, and 3) must have been accepted by a post-secondary college or professional school at which he or she will be majoring in performing arts, music or dance. We need your help in identifying and informing qualified seniors of this scholarship opportunity! To apply, please have the student complete the enclosed application. All relevant correspondence should be sent no later than May 22, 2009 directly to: The Ruth Kletzing Scholarship Fund C/O Willow Manor Players 1868 Willow Avenue Willow Grove, PA 19090 All applications will be reviewed by our scholarship committee and a decision will be made by the end of May. We will inform the recipient and the high school of this decision and hope that our recipient's name will be announced at the graduation awards celebration. We are relying on you to assist Willow Manor Players in helping a student reach their goals and full potential as they move on to the next chapter in their life. Thank you for your help and co-operation in this endeavor. If there are any further questions, please call 215-659-1890. The Vice-President of our Executive Board, Ruth Ellen Schmidt-Kletzing, will be happy to assist you.
